We accumulate a massive amount of dirty dishes within minutes of cleaning the entire kitchen and apparently having no water didn't stop us from managing to dirty every dish in the house. We didn't have water to wash our hands after touching dogs, cats and chickens. I placed a bowl of water (from the blue jugs that we fill from across the street for drinking water) with some soap in it on the stove just to do a little rinse. We couldn't shower, which somehow became our oldest son's obsession and then wouldn't go to school on Friday because there was no water. We couldn't do our weekly load of clothes and we didn't have enough water to give to the pets.
I will now admit that my family is absolutely doomed if we ever lose water again.
It turned out that a wire was rubbed raw and finally broke apart deep down in the well. The well guy was very nice, however, our situation was a tiny cluster f*ck because I had left to go hunting Friday morning and didn't figure we'd have someone out to the homestead so quickly. The dude was patient and was able to get the well back up and running AFTER he had to go get a skinny guy and a ladder to get down into the well.
Now, all is well and we have water (yes, pun intended).
